The No.12 features a small, pointed, crescent-shaped blade with sharpening along the inner curve. It is often employed for cutting sutures and is also used in arteriotomies (incisions into an artery), parotid surgeries (involving facial salivary glands), mucosal incisions during septoplasty (nasal septum repair), cleft palate surgeries, ureterolithotomies (removal of stones via ureter incision), and pyelolithotomies (incision into the kidney's renal pelvis for stone removal, also known as pelviolithotomy). Additionally, it is utilized in dental procedures for lifting skin flaps and removing excess polymerized composite resin from the facial and interproximal areas of teeth during restorations. The No.12 is compatible with Handles 3, 3L, 3 Graduated, 5B, 7, 9, B3, and B3L.
